What does More Polythene manufacture?

We have specialised in the extrusion and conversion of polythene since 1996. Today we manufacture tailor-made products to your exact requirements, from a single bespoke trial through to high-volume production, engineered around your product, process and budget.

  • Bespoke product specifications
  • Medium and high-volume production runs
  • Short manufacturing lead times
  • Flexible sizes, colours and material specifications

What does extrusion and conversion in house actually mean?

Extrusion is where polymer becomes film. Conversion is where that film becomes a finished product: cut, sealed, gusseted, perforated or printed. Plenty of packaging suppliers do one and buy in the other, or buy in both and re-sell. We do both under one roof in Blackburn.

That matters when your job does not fit a standard size. Because we make the film, we can change it: the width, the gauge, the blend, the colour and the finish are all variables rather than fixed options. If a stock size nearly works but not quite, we can make the one that does.

What can you change about a film?

Effective packaging has to do more than protect. It should also cut waste, speed up your line and control cost. These are the properties we tune to match your product, your process and your handling:

  • Strength
  • Elasticity
  • Slip
  • Stiffness
  • Thickness
  • Recycled content

Tell us what the packaging has to survive and we will recommend a specification. If you would rather work it out yourself first, the product selector and the packaging guides are a good starting point.

About More Polythene

Who are More Polythene?

More Polythene is a family-run manufacturer of polythene packaging based at Griffin Mill, Stancliffe Street, Blackburn, Lancashire. We have specialised in the extrusion and conversion of polythene since 1996 and deliver across the United Kingdom from our single Blackburn site.

Where is More Polythene based?

We manufacture in Blackburn, Lancashire, at Griffin Mill, Stancliffe Street, BB2 2QU. Everything we sell is made there. We deliver UK wide, but we hold no premises anywhere else.

Do you manufacture or just supply?

We manufacture. Extrusion and conversion both happen in house, which means we control the film from raw polymer through to the finished bag, sack or sheet, and we can adjust the specification rather than pick from someone else's stock list.

Do you supply small quantities?

Yes. Minimum order quantity varies by product and gauge, and we support one-off bespoke trials so you can prove a specification before committing to a production run.

How do I get in touch?

Call 01254 691354, email sales@morepolythene.co.uk, or send us your specification. We are open Mon to Fri, 8am to 5pm. You can also read about our approach to sustainability or see the areas we deliver to.
